Experimental research on compressibility characteristics of recycled concrete aggregate: recycled tire waste mixtures

Abstract The utilization of processed rubber and construction waste in lieu soil as a substrate could improve significantly seismic performance, while addressing the pressing environmental issue how to reutilize dispose of, i.e., automotive tires demolition by-products. In this study, series laboratory tests explore influence recycled tire (RTW) concrete aggregate (RCA) fine particles on compressibility parameters RCA–RTW mixtures. results revealed that addition RCA causes an increase its consolidation index (c v ) prompting power law decrease associated void ratio. It is found all mixtures are characterized by higher values compression (C C swelling S indexes when compared pure specimens presenting primary secondary constrained modulus fewer than 42 MPa 96 MPa, respectively.
